About Me
I am serving as a volunteer photo-journalist onboard the Mercy Ship Anastasis in West Africa. Mercy Ships is the world's largest non-governmental organization of hospital ships, the Anastasis currently the largest operating in the fleet. Since 1978, the organization follows the 2000 year model of Jesus, & brings hope and healing to Africa's poor. The blind see through cataract and other eye operations. The lame walk through orthopedic operations. The mute speak through cleft lip and palate operations. The disfigured are given their dignity back through advanced, life-changing maxillofacial operations. The Anastasis also engages in AIDS education, community development projects, water sanitation and well building, dental & maternity health clinics.... Like the rest of the 350 plus crewmembers on board, to defray costs, I pay crew fees to serve. If you are interested in supporting me or donating to Mercy Ships directly please contact me at scott@onamercyship.com. Lots of ways to get involved, sponsor a surgery, a fresh water wells, transportation, prosthetics wheelchairs, etc. Adopt-a-Patient, etc.

Hi,
My Name is Bridgette I left the ship last year for school after serving for three and half years. I will say the best years of my life had been and will always be serving with mercy ship. I am thrilled to see the great work you are doing on mercy ship. I think greatest thing one can do in life is to serve God and humanity with their gifting and talent and you are just doing that. I pray that you will be bless so much that you will know the joy in giving up your self in the serves of fellow men.
My parents are still on board Anastasis and I am currently in the US school to become and a nurse and then head back to one of the ships. I love mercy ships and I am glad that you are with this awesome ministry. Thank you for doing what you do so well!!
Bless you!
Bridgette.

Chuck

Hi Scott,
I'm Jenn Kim and I had done my DTS and lived on the Mercyships Anastasis back in 1997 and to this day I can't wait to go back and serve on that ship again! I'm excited that you are doing this fundraising gala here and I am even more excited to go! It takes a lot of courage and will to just take a pause from their every day life and serve others unconditionally. Hope to meet you at the gala!
May the Lord bless you richly for the great wonders that you are helping provide for our brothers and sisters in Africa. -Jessica Mauger, Orlando, FL.
